Been away for a bit trying to keep up with what the children are listing to who I cross over the road on their way to their schools and trying to teach them to look back to the music that was at the heart of current trends which us oldies still enjoy after so many years (in my case 63) and the artists who started it all off. Some of your songs still move me to tears, reminding me of times and memories which made my life more real and enjoyable, "with a little help from my friends"! Thank You, Lollipopnev
My Dad, Tony P (he will love a name check on the Offical Joe Cocker Site!) is a HUGE fan of JC and it's somewhat of a tradition that i 'surprise' him with the new Joe Cocker albums (it started when i was a kid and i'm now 35!). Recently, despite being told 'not to spend my money on him', my Dad dropped a MASSIVE HINT that the great man had a new album coming out!
Disobeying my Dad yet again, I was straight onto Amazon and putting in a pre-order. Once i 'surprised' my Dad and let him play it on loop a few dozen times, i (like always) had to have a listen and although i'm far from an expert, i think it is his best album for a long time and my Dad (who IS an expert!) is loving it!!
To me, it reminds me of the likes of 'Cocker' and 'Luxury you can afford' and the Joe Cocker i remember playing endlessly on the old cassette deck and dodgy car stereo throughout childhood.
Thanks for putting a smile on mine and my Dad's face....Top Marks!!
There are many interesting ballads, but we can see the "real" Joe Cocker in songs like "Hard Knocks" and "The Fall". This songs remind me the old blues Joe. I hope that he could back to Italy the next summer because I couldn't go to the concert in Milan. It would be fantastic a concert in Taormina the next summer.
Been a fan since Big Blues. This album is hard to come to terms with as all of the songs are new and unlike previous albums there are no familiar songs so as to be able to compare Joe's original take on well known classic material. Joe's voice is in magnificent shape and I am sure that this album will become appreciated once Joe sings the songs in his live set.
Good to see that even with his entitlement to a free bus pass over here Joe is still prepared to try something different. A bit too aimed at the middle ground for my taste but then I am still a rocker at heart even in my bath chair.
Sad to see no British dates. Take no notice of our press Joe, all musical ignoramuses and get over to here to see your original fans.
And Ray lets have some more re-issues of Joes earlier albums, particularly Stingray and those legendary "missing takes".

Can't wait for new album. What I've heard so far sounds like Joe once again at his best. Why no British tour. I know there is a great following in Europe but you need to come back to the UK Joe and travel north to Scotland please.
